Incest crime in India: Girl was raped by father, brother for years in Lucknow

A shocking crime of incest in which a girl was raped by her father and brother for many years, was revealed in Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.

The girl was just 11-year-old when she was first raped. The sexual abuse continued for many years.

First, her father Sharan Singh, 55, raped her and later her brother, Rahul Singh, also began raping her.

This horrific tale of sexual exploitation continued for years. The girl was now 20-year-old when she finally mustered the courage to raise a voice against it.

The harrowing incest continued for so long because when she told her mother, she would ask her not to tell anyone as this would 'defame family'.

Finally, the girl managed to get permission to go out for the course of beautician and hence was able to get out of house for sometime every day. One day she realised that enough was enough.

She went to Chief minister's office and broke down, informing him about the entire incident. It was 'Janata Darshan' programme in which she made this complaint.

Shocked, the CM ordered an inquiry. The police began investigation and her father and brother were arrested. Sharan Singh and Rahul were booked for rape and sexual abuse.

They were caught and taken to police custody. The girl's mother was also booked as she was silent witness to the heinous crime. Later, they were produced in the court and sent to the jail on judicial custody.
